A Big thanks to Culter 16's for giving Porty 15's a tough workout in our friendly match at Sheddocksley yesterday. This was exactally the type of match that we needed before heading into the new season. Culter equipped themselves well and created a good few goalscoring opportunities but unfortunately the weather conditions left alot to be desired as the wind did its very best to spoil a very competative and highly entertaining game. All credit also the Culter players who when going down to a younger team did not resort to any dirty tactics unlike the teams on the next pitch to us who had bookings in double figures and players sent off for headbutting (and this in a friendly match too). Culter kept pressing and playing good football right to the end in their efforts to pull it back. Our second goal I think killed it for Culter who had only just pulled themselves back into the game before an absolute fluke wind assisted goal lobbed you giant keeper. You just cant legislate for that sort of thing. Perhaps a turning point in the game. I do feel we deserved the win on the day but that is no disrespect to a highly competent and professional display from your 16's who were a credit to Culter Boys Club. We wish your team and indeed club all the very best for next season and we will keep tabs on your progress.
Thanks again.
Peter Morrison Chairman Portlethen Sports Club.
